The Millstream 'All Fun' Waterslide Park 1983-2007
On January 28, 1983 it was announced that a Waterslide wonderland would be built next to the Speedway in Langford.
Frank Wille has 27 hectares of mud, a failing speedway, and a multimillion dollar dream. The Victoria auto dealer is working on making a $7 Million Disneyland of the Pacific on his Western Speedway in Langford. (Metro District, Times-Colonist January 28, 1983)
At the time, waterslides were very popular in North America, but the plan for the one at Millstream in Langford would dwarf all others. It would be a 16 chute waterslide that 'will be the largest in the world’, and pump 99,000 litres of heated water up the hill every minute. The pumps (4 Chrysler 400 V-8 Engines driving the pumps) would be from Texas, as no Canadian company could build them. During its development, it was promoted as being three times the size of Kelowna's waterslide that attracted an average of 2,000 people each day. Wille's overall vision was a waterslide, mini golf course, Camping park, museum, and a concession that would be so popular it would bring over 5,000 people a day to have fun.
